Highway is introducing a more secure way to verify your identity when you log in. A free app on your phone generates a unique code that refreshes every 30 seconds, making sure only you can access your account. You may have seen something like this when logging into a bank or setting up two-step verification on a social media account — it's the same concept.
What Is Time-Based One-Time Password?
Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) uses an authenticator app to generate a secure 6-digit code that refreshes every 30 seconds. You’ll enter this code each time you log in to Highway.
This ensures that only someone with access to your registered device can sign in.
What You’ll Need
Before logging in with TOTP, you’ll need:
A smartphone (iPhone or Android)
The Google Authenticator app (free to download)
We recommend installing Google Authenticator on your phone for the most secure and reliable experience.
Step 1: Download Google Authenticator
Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
Search for Google Authenticator.
Tap Install or Get.
Open the app and allow camera access (required to scan QR codes).
What Happens Next?
When TOTP is required for your account, you’ll register your device during login.
After your device is registered, you’ll use your authenticator app each time you log in.
If You Change or Lose Your Device
Only one device can be registered at a time.
